it's 8:38 pm now
I SURVIVED MY FIRST DAY AS AN INTERN!
awesome day, did lots of hands-on and fecal smears + flotations and fecal examinations.
still not used to the smell of the feces, but i guess i will be, one day. haha.
working hours are okay-ish, 9am to 630pm, with 2 days off in 1 week.
allowances are still unknown, but Gwen (TP senior who worked as an intern there last year), said that it shd be the same as the BP.
this is one internship whr other people will be envious and jealous of huh? hahaha.
things i did/learnt: and i will try to update this space as frequent as possibe to keep track of my days before i forget everything at the end of the week.
- prepared food for the animals at the ward.
- IM injections to the goose and star tortoise.
- applied topical eye cream to the baby markhor (goat).
- transported a HUGE red-tailed catfish back to the treatment room.
- flush-washed the wound of the bearded dragon.
- teased the snapping turtle.
- saw the vets rescued a dying palm civet.
- fed the monkey at the ward.
- fecal smears + flotations and fecal examinations.
- carried and played with a palm civet.
and i guess this will help me determine if i want to stay at the wildlife side or the clinical side.
we shall see. :)
watch this space for more updates.
