it's 10:57 pm now
this is a must blog, like once in a lifetime experience.
and it's not a good one.
my first ever accident, and it was in the redbull mini.
series of unfortunate events happened today, 19th june.
saturday the 19th is the new black friday the 13th.
worked started kind of early today, at 7.30am. shari passed me the car keys when i reached so i can go pick up the car. but who knew, she forgot to take the scan card out of the office and as a result, we were locked outside the office.
feeling lost early in the morning, we went to knock on our neighbour's door upstairs, who shares the common backyard, hoping that he could open up the backdoor for us. but after several knockings, it was to no avail.
then, we decided to pick up nicole at siglap, who has the scan card, but only starting her shift at 9am. it was only 7.55am. however, when we were on ECP, we were told that she was going to have breakfast with her dad. in the end, we went to the McDonald's Drive Thru' at ECP to get our breakfast.
got back to the office at 8.30am, met nicole, get our arse in preparing the stocks, and shari wanted to check on the other car as there was some spillage that happened last night. i drove her to the multi storey car park, and this time round, she remembered to bring the scan card with her, but not the car keys. *bangs head* so we went back to the office, picked up the car keys and drove back to the multi storey.
checked, drove both cars to the office and did some last minute preparation, and off we go for our first event at 9am.
reached our first event at about 9.20am, and then we were told that the participants had already left for the end point. this was seriously omg. it was really a bad morning. called the organiser, texted, and found out that the end point was at mandai road. decided to head to the end point so at least we could sample some of the redbull to the participants.
i took over the wheel, cos shari wasnt really familiar with roads. everything went okay, and we thought that that would be the end of the bad morning.
but we were wrong.
just 2minutes after driving out of the carpark, we met with an accident after making an u-turn. crashed into the boot of a hyundai car when he was trying to make quite a sudden turn into a condominium. shari was warning me about the car already but everything was just too late. i tried to jam break but it was useless. the next thing i know was that, i heard a 'bang'.
it was 10.12am.
shocked. traumatised.
it wasnt long till we regained our composure and started taking pictures of the damages on both cars, and exchanging contact details.
after everything was settled, we drove to the nearby petrol kiosk and tried to recall what just happened. called danielle and told her what happened, and then she informed AJ. we were told to go back to the office and drop the car keys at the office so that AJ could assess the damage.
damages were not really major, with a few dents and scratches. same for the other car.
but i was too traumatised to drive so shari took over the wheel.
reached office at 11.15am and ended shift early. sat around in the office and standardised our statements with each another. one good thing was, the driver was friendly enough to text us if we were okay and he didnt know how did it happened too. we were not sure if we had to pay for the damages, though it was stated in the contract that we will be 100% liable for the damages.
if we had to pay, then that will be just plain bad luck and careless on my part. for what i know, they restructure the contract after an old girl met with quite a major accident last time.
if somewhere somehow, one unfortunate event did not happen. the crash would not have happened. it was all fated.
now, i am expecting to hear an earful from the office people..
and it was shari's last day, and i would be all alone for the meeting next friday to receive all the arrows. someone kill me please.
