one fren of mine sent me the following story,

its meaningful,
and he hope that after reading it,
it will cheer me up. =)
that care n concern is that simple.
which i wish someone else could do that.
father and daughter stood at the departure gate
he said: i love you. i wish you enough.
she said: dad, our life together has been more than enough. your love is all i ever needed. i wish you enough too.
they kissed and she left.

he walked over towards a window where jim was seated
standing there jim could see he wanted and needed to cry
jim tried not to intrude on his privacy
but he asked jim: did you ever say goodbye to someone knowing it would be forever?
jim said: yes, i have.

saying that brought back memories jim had
of expressing his love and appreciation
for all his dad had done for him
recognizing that his days were limited
jim took the time to tell his dad
face to face how much he meant to him
so jim knew what this man is experiencing

jim said: forgive me for asking but why is this a forever goodbye?
the man said: i am old and she lives much too far away.
i have challenges ahead, and the reality is,
her next trip back will be for my funeral

jim asked: when you were saying goodbye i heard you say "I wish you enough"
may i ask what that means?

the man smiled & said: that's a wish that has been
handed down from other generations
my parents used to say it to everyone

he paused for a moment and looking up
as if trying to remember it in detail
he smiled even more

he continued: when we said "I wish you enough"
we want the other person to have a life
filled with just enough good things to sustain them

turning towards jim
he shared the following
as if he were reciting it from memory:

i wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
i wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
i wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
i wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
i wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
i wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
i wish enough "hello's" to get you through the final "goodbye"
with that he sobbed and walked away from jim.

if you're reading this...
i wish you enough! :)

it's that simple and nice.

another one he sent,

on the meaning of life.

The Dash

i read of a man who stood to speak
at a funeral of a friend
he referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning to the end

he noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke the following date with tears
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years

for that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth

for it matters not how much we own
the cars, the house, the cash
what matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash

so think about this long and hard
are there things you'd like to change
for you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged

if we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel

and be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before

if we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while

so when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash.

i nv gave it a dash before..
